DR DAVID WILLIAMSON has written extensively on modern German history, the history of international relations and diplomacy, the Second World War and th_e Cold War. Among his many publications are The Third Reich (also translated into Italian), Bismarck and Germany, The British in Germany, 1918-30, War and Peace: International Relations 1914-45, Mussolini: From Socialist to Fascist, Germany From Defeat to Partition, 1949-63, Europe and the Cold War, 1945-91, Germany: 1815 to the Present, The Siege of Malta 1940-1942 and The Age of Dictators,_ which is being translated into Greek. He has also published a biography of General Lord Robertson. David Williamson lives in Berkshire and lectures and writes.
